Thank you for your interest in Neighborhood Tax.
Selecting a tax professional is an important step on your part, you're building a relationship with someone regarding a sensitive topic - money.
I have 17 years experience in the tax industry working with H&R Block and have been on my own an additional 3 years.
I start all new clients with a free review of the previous years returns, I call it a Second Opinion Review. In fact, the IRS states a current year return cannot be accurately filed without a tax preparer reviewing the prior year return first.
This review lets me look for missed deductions or credits, many times this has resulted in an amendment for an extra refund.
So I ask, Does the IRS owe you any money?
I also have extensive work with IRS correspondence (Audits) and have successfully helped clients abate fees and reduce the amount owed. Any time you receive a letter from the IRS, don't just pay the amount asked. Have a tax professional review the return and the request made by the IRS.
The IRS only knows numbers, they don't know your specific tax situation and therefor will not give you the benefit of credits and deductions you deserve. I have also helped with clients that need Injured Spouse filing assistance and were not advised by previous tax professionals.
I look forward to being the last tax professional you need to find!
